Caloosa Cove Real Estate

Located in the Iona area of South Fort Myers, Caloosa Cove offers river front estate homes in a highly desirable area with easy access to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the world famous beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Caloosa Cove is located off of Linton Road. The Linton family built their homestead on the Caloosahatchee River around 1910. Lands like this one along the southern shores of the Caloosahatchee off Linton Road were used by cowboys to drive the cattle to Punta Rassa where they were sold to Cuban businessmen for gold. These cowboys were called "Florida Crackers" for the sounds their whips would make as the were on a cattle drive.
