Dixie Fish Company Fort Myers Beach

Dixie Fish Company:

In 1937 The Dixie Fish Co. was built and became one of the best places around to both buy and sell that day's catch. By the 1950s, the fishing industry was hit with what we call today, “Pink Gold”. Pink gold was a nickname given to shrimp. Their abundance right off the South West Florida coast made it a gamechanger in the fishing industry. Shrimp boats would tie up all along Matanza’s Pass, where you can still spot many of them today.

Arriving by boat pass around the north end of the Beach around Bowditch Point Park, pass under the Matanzas Bridge. This sits just next to Doc Fords and is also owned by the same owners of Doc Fords. Expect great food and outstanding views daily.
