One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, BIG FISH
Wishes do come true. When Sanibel residents Holly and Jason Smith headed out on their flats boat "Bar Fly" for a day of fishing last Saturday, Holly casually said "I just want to catch a red fish". Wow was Holly in for a BIG surprise. While relaxing and enjoying the clear skies and even clearer water off of Sanibel Island, Holly was snapped into action when her line jerked. After landing her record sized Red Fish, Jason grabbed the camera to record the catch before releasing this giant specimen.
Now if I didn't know Holly and Jason as well as I do, I might be led to believe that this photo was completely staged because it is truly picture perfect! Their Red Fish was 38 inches long! Undoubtedly a fish tale for the record books! FISH ON SMITH FAMILY. One day I hope to catch one that rivals this fish...until then I'll keep wishing.
