Recently, the Sanctuary Golf Club and the City of Sanibel Recreation Center entered into a Corporate Partnership benefiting the children of the community. Children enrolled in the City’s Recreation Center programs will have the opportunity to receive golf lessons at The Sanctuary Golf Club. Additionally The Sanctuary Golf Club made a contribution to the Recreation Center’s youth programs and has given the Recreation Department a golf cart to help maintain and support the athletic fields. In return, employees of The Sanctuary Golf Club will be provided with corporate memberships to the City Recreation Center.

Contest Winner Names Holiday Elves
SANIBEL ISLAND, FL (January 7, 2009) – As the holiday season came to a close and decorations were carefully stored, the six whimsical elves in front of Pfeifer Realty Group on Periwinkle Way were not packed away nameless. “I had no idea the elves would create such interest” said Pfeifer. Passers-by stopped to take photos and would call the office if the elves were not outside just to be sure they were alright. “We were asked so many elf questions that we decided to let the public help us name them.”
Passers-by on Periwinkle Way are getting out of their cars to get a closer look at a troupe of six costumed elves relaxing in front of Pfeifer Realty Group’s Sanibel Island office. Some are taking photos and others are just touching the whimsical little mannequins.
Thanks to the hard work of organizers Betsy Ventura and Jean Baer, Sanibel residents will be able to select fresh local fruits, vegetables, flowers, seafood, breads, cheeses, soups, pastas, jams, nuts, honey and many organic products at the Farmer's Market! Each Sunday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, Nobember thru April.
Sanibel's Farmers Market is located at City Hall on Dunlop Road next to the Sanibel Library and BIG Arts.
