Mark Pfeifer grew up in Baltimore, MD where he attended Gilman School and later graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration. Since 1992, Mark has worked as a business and technology consultant helping businesses streamline and “reinvent” their operations using technology and process improvement. His proven experience in managing, architecting and developing enterprise solutions has helped numerous military, government, and commercial clients.
Seeing his brother and sister-in-law helping so many families buy and sell homes in Southwest Florida (Sanibel, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Naples), Mark obtained his real estate licenses in 2014 to better understand the real estate industry. He soon realized his skills as a business owner, business/technology consultant and project manager could help clients navigate the complexities of buying and selling real estate. Mark became certified as a Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and started teaching agents how to truly become business owners and leverage technology to assist their clients and themselves. At the same time, Mark learned how rewarding it was to help families achieve their real estate goals and continued to assist clients in achieving their homeownership goals.
Given the nature of Mark’s business and work, he had the opportunity to travel and live in many different cities throughout the United States. Primarily, Arlington (VA), Houston (TX), Winnipeg (Canada), Boston (MA), and Virginia Beach (VA). Each of the cities offered many different experiences and lifestyles, but Mark just couldn’t find the right location. Denver offered an amazing outdoor lifestyle. Arlington offered easy access to fine dining and historical and cultural attractions. Winnipeg offered a couple weeks of amazing weather before the harsh winter kicked in. Virginia Beach offered a more year-round lifestyle by the water. However, Mark knew Sanibel was a unique location and loved visiting it quite frequently. Sanibel offers the old Florida style without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. Conservation land, no high-rises and no traffic lights really sets it apart. However, it is centrally located to allow easy access to other major cities if the urge rises.
After losing his mother in 2020, Mark decided living closer to family was important and moved to Sanibel, FL to be closer to his brother and sister-in-law. In addition, he is taking his combined knowledge of real estate, technology, and business processes to the Pfeifer Realty Group as the Director of Operations. His primary goal is to streamline and make a stress-free process for all their clients and agents.
Very much like the Pfeifer Realty Group, Mark is no stranger to the idea that you need to give back to your community to be successful in business. For almost 10 years, Mark dedicated much of his free time to his local community as a sworn volunteer police officer. He was awarded several honors and distinctions during his time as a law enforcement officer. However, the greatest “award” was when residents would stop and thank him for making the area safer for their families. No award can replace a true heartfelt gesture from those that you serve. Mark also supports several major non-profits to advance research and cures for Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Mark is excited to take his knowledge and desire to help others at the Pfeifer Realty Group. Not to mention the warmer climate and new opportunities for living by the water.
