Octifest Fever Runs Wild on Sanibel Island!
LAST UPDATED: 20 March 2008

Octifest was created in 2008 as a signature event to support the Sanibel Sea School. The first event had local residents running from bay to sea clutching cryptic clues. Nesting a new event in the Sanibel Captiva Social Calendar is always a challenge to build awareness, and the first Octifest was hard to miss. A new clue was hidden on the island each week for 8 weeks before the event and if found, the clue was exchanged for a great prize. The first year each lucky islander won an original Luc Century hand etched vase!

The Sanibel Sea School also known as SX3 offers 1/2 day and full day classes for kids, family outings classes for adults and multi-day camps. Their offer field studies on Sanibel, Captiva and the Sundial. Fall in love with our ocean environment where every day is a field trip.
