Yes, this popular iconic marina restaurant is open for business after Hurricane Ian. If you're looking for a fun stop on Sanibel Island, Gramma Dot's Seaside Saloon may be your perfect destination. Come by land or by sea.
This 7-time winner of the people's choice award Sanibel restaurant is located at the Sanibel Marina on the East End of the Island.
FUN FACT: Gramma Dot (Dorothy Sterns) arrived in Sanibel in 1963. She is the grandmother of Myton Ireland. Both the Sanibel Marina and the restaurant remain in the Ireland family.
This is the only dockside dining you will find on Sanibel. Very few places remain "stuck in time" and Gramma Dot's is a real treat. Dine inside or dockside for lunch starting at 11:15 and if you plan to have dinner, arrive before 8 pm. If you arrive by boat, call the Dockmaster on VHF 16 for a slip. Overnights are also welcome if slips are available. Part of the charm is the open air screened porch dining where guests enjoy watching dolphins play among the boats.
Pfeifer's Favorite: The fresh grouper sandwich with cheese & homemade chips. After 23 years, this still remains John Pfeifer's favorite grouper sandwich on Sanibel.
