Whidden's Marina - Boca Grande

Whidden's Marina is a historic marina in Boca Grande, Florida. It is located at 190 1st Street East. On December 28, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Boca Grande’s oldest marina was founded in 1926 by Sam Whidden and has been run by the Whidden family ever since. Back in the 20s, the marina was also a well-known nightspot, dance hall, and restaurant. All that has changed, but not the flavor and old-fashioned hospitality of this “Old Florida” establishment.

FUN FACT: Okay, Whidden's is not a restaurant unless you wish to drink your meal, or eat some bait. However, we could not pass up adding Whidden's Marina to our MUST SEE list if you have a boat. Go! This is as "Old Florida" as it gets.
