Anhinga Estates - Bayfront homes for sale on Sanibel Island
Only two homes make up this small community on the East End of Sanibel on San Carlos Bay. Nestled in the heart of Old Town Sanibel near the historic lighthouse, fishing pier, quaint shops and cafe's.
FUN FACT: Derived from the Tupi Language in Brazil, "Anhinga" means devil or snake bird. In contrast to ducks, Anhingas can't waterproof their feathers resulting in a loss in buoyancy allowing them to dive easily in search of prey which they spear with their sharp bill. Sometimes mistaken for a Double Crested Cormorant, Anhingas have longer tail feathers a spear shaped bill while a Cormorant has a hook tip bill.

What is Below Market Rate Housing? Sanibel homes and condos are valued at an average price above 3 quarters of a million dollars. Together with the City of Sanibel, Community Housing Resources is actively acquiring and maintaining over 74 units which are available with an application process to rent "below market rate value".
