Sanibel Beaches Remain Pristine
LAST UPDATED: 19 July 2010

Please help us spread the good news! Sanibel and Captiva Islands continue to remain unspoiled and in top condition. Last week NOAA released reports that the oil from the BP Deep Horizon spill is not projected to come near Sanibel and Captiva Islands! According to NOAA's latest reports, there is less than a one percent chance of any oil reaching our island beaches.

Our islands have also been selected as a safe haven for the relocation and release of many animals that have been rescued from the oil and cleaned! Last week 21 brown pelicans and several northern gannets were relocated from neighboring Gulf states.

We hope that you will continue to support the businesses of Sanibel and Captiva along with our surrounding neighbors. Without your support, your favorite places might not be around when you return. Please help us spread the good news that Sanibel and Captiva Island Beaches are pristine and unspoiled!
