The City of Sanibel recognizes that many individuals in our community need below market rate housing. This valuable program offers both rental and ownership opportunities to families with low or moderate incomes.
Community Housing and Resources, Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides housings for many families who work full time on Sanibel or are retired or disabled residents on the island.
CHR provides affordable homes in 11 rental neighborhoods and 14 home ownership opportunities with limited-equity on Sanibel. These homes allow service providers to live here and truly be a part of our island community. Social and economic diversity is part of The Sanibel Plan, and CHR helps many find homes here.
Many island residents volunteer and support CHR and their valuable housing efforts. Sanibel Civic Groups also support CHR as seen in the June 26th, 2015 Playground in the Airport Way community made possible by the Sanibel Captiva Kiwanis Club.
