The Sanibel Causeway October 2006

10-28-2006: This photo was taken as I passed under the new fixed span bridge that will replace the draw bridge. The Sanibel Causeway is scheduled for final completion in July 2007. Having worked as a project engineer, this has been an interesting construction project to watch unfold. The three causeway bridges are visually changing rapidly as the beams are set, the bridge deck is poured and railings set in place. The new toll plaza has also taken shape on Punta Rassa.
