Eric Pfeifer's Television Commerical won the 2006 Telly Award for the best Real Estate Agent TV spot in the United States. Award credit goes to creative director and producer Mark Meyers of Trademark Films. Mark's talent and Eric's message merged to produce an award winning spot. After winning the top Florida Real Estate Commercial and the best in the south, "Real Estate Is..." went on to win the top award for the country.
The Telly Award was founded in 1978 by 7 time Emmy award winning producer David E. Carter. The purpose was to recognize and award the vest commercials and programs, video and film productions locally and regionally. David Carter is still filming and producing documentaries. He calls Sanibel Island home.
Fun Fact: David Carter, the creator of the Telly Award, lives full time on Sanibel Island and Pfeifer Realty Group sponsors several on-going film productions with David. David and Eric Pfeifer crossed paths after Eric's commercial had won a Telly Award. Eric helped David and his wife sell their condo on Sanibel. It was years later that David shared with Pfeifer Realty Group his past accomplishments, his passion for film making and his dream of doing some long lasting projects on Sanibel. Since then, David with the sponsorship of Pfeifer Realty Group has produced "Growing Up on Sanibel Island" a look at 4 generations of island kids. They are now working on their newest documentary: Seven Sanibel Artists - A look at how artists over the years have found creative inspiration here on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Carter and Pfeifer are also working on a long term project: Sanibel Captiva TV, a video on demand tour of all things Sanibel and Captiva.
